Why Walk, Jog, Or Run To Lose Weight?
There are so many people these days that are desperate to lose weight. Unfortunately there are also many people out there ready to take your money and give you the latest magic bullet that will guarantee weight loss – according to them!
It doesn’t have to be that way. Yes, there are many weight loss programs that do a good job, but also cost a lot of money and require a great deal of discipline if they are to work. Don’t get me wrong I believe that to do anything well in life you need a certain amount of discipline.
Unfortunately, for many people trying to lose weight, the mere mention of exercise is a huge turnoff. But to put it simply – in order to lose weight you have to consume fewer calories than your body uses up. There is no getting away from that fact and in the modern world of instant fixes and magic pills; people still believe that they can lose weight without any sacrifices, however little.
This is a myth; sure there are weight loss programs out there that will bring almost immediate results for what seems like little input. But often this weight loss is minimal and cannot be maintained long-term.
Just reconsider that word – exercise. Is it really so bad? How about getting out of your front door and just going for a walk around the neighbourhood for 15 minutes or so. Think of the benefits. You may notice interesting sights than you have been too busy to notice before, hey this walking doesn’t feel so bad. Why not walk to the mall instead of using the car. Straight away you will be saving gas which is so expensive these days. You might meet someone you haven’t seen for a while and catch up over a mineral water or even walk together.
If you could jog or run you are going to feel many benefits including weight loss. Such as improved muscle tone, healthier heart and lungs. Sure you may feel a little stiff to begin but that will soon disappear. Best of all you will begin to feel good about yourself – and rightly so. Instead of talking about losing weight like many of your friends may be, you are actually doing something about it.
A good way to keep motivated is to find a walking/jogging/running buddy. By making commitments to meet up a certain amount of times each week you are more likely to keep going. Why not enter a local fun run and raise some money for charity whilst losing weight? As your confidence improves you may want to join a local club, there are plenty of them about, all catering for different abilities.
Walking/Jogging/Running is such a fantastic way of losing weight without breaking the bank. All you need is a decent pair of running shoes, tee-shirt, leggings and waterproof jacket and you are set to go.
Health Care
Hello all you wonderful people out there. If there is one subject that affects every one of us that is our health. What is the best way of taking care of our health?
Let’s take a brief look at some of our options for taking care of our health.
Some people believe in preventative measures for taking care of their health. What exactly does this mean? Basically, it means eating a healthy diet, exercising properly, and living a healthy lifestyle. A yearly check-up is also a good way to know what shape you are in and to catch any developing illness.
An unpleasant factor in modern life is stress. It is a fact of life. Fortunately, there are many ways to deal with stress. Conventional medicine is one method – relaxation medication. Meditation is another method. In between there are such options as daily rest (even if for ten to twenty minutes), spending part of every day in a soothing physical environment, taking a break, a change of scenery, a vacation. A good laugh, whether at a funny joke or at a comical situation is highly recommended for keeping your mind and body in good shape.
None of us is infallible. We are all prone to illness. What are our options when we do become ill? Again there is conventional medicine. Medication for practically every illness under the sun is available.
Personally, when something out of the norm is detected on my blood test, I make a bee line to the dietician’s office. By eating those foods, those vitamins, required by the body, balance can be regained.
There is more than one way of doing things. You decide what makes you feel good and how you want to stay healthy. After all, health is wealth.
Reducing Stress With the pH Miracle Diet
Each food or drink that you consume has a certain acidity or alkalinity. The pH Miracle Diet aims to help you reach a balanced pH in your body, which has many health advantages. The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14, with 1 being acidic and 14 being alkaline. The body functions best at a pH level of about 7.35, which is slightly alkaline, and a range from 7.2 to 7.4 is considered to be good. As a health coach, I find that many people struggle to reach that balanced pH because they eat too many acidic foods, and helping them get to a balanced pH is important. There are many foods and supplements that you can add to your diet to increase alkalinity and decrease acidity, and the pH Miracle Diet can help with this.
Acids are stored in the body, and when the buildup becomes too high, body systems and functions do not run as smoothly. Eating more alkaline foods can help to counteract the acidity. You can monitor the pH of your body using saliva test strips, so you know when you are getting closer to a balanced pH. You will also be able to tell that you are becoming more balanced because you will experience other health benefits, such as increased energy, improved digestion, better weight management and more. Other than foods you eat, other outside factors can play a role in how much acid is stored in the body, particularly stress.
Everyone has stress, but everyone’s stress is different and affects each individual in different ways. But, stress causes the body to work less efficiently, regardless. When the body is working to fight stress, it cannot devote the proper energy to its normal and natural functions. This will result in more acids being stored. Stress causes the immune system to break down, in particular, and you become more susceptible to a wide variety of ailments. During times of stress the heart has to work harder to pump the blood to the organs and circulate nutrients and oxygen. Acidic blood is more “sticky” and harder to pump through the vessels. When the blood flow is impeded, organs do not get the oxygen and nutrients they need to properly work and cleanse the body of toxins, allowing for buildup. Making your system more alkaline can help reduce stress and reduce the effort that the body needs to make to run properly.
Diet is not the only way to reduce stress, but it is a start. Other methods include exercise and relaxation. Proper sleep patterns are also important. Limiting your intake of unhealthy foods and drinks, like processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, tobacco products and drugs will also help the body become more alkaline and help reduce stress. The faster you can get your body to a balanced pH, the faster you will feel your stress levels start to go down.
